Digg Comment

I posted this to Digg yesterday and it got buried pretty swiftly. But I think I made a good point and I thought I'd put it someplace the public could get to it if they wanted. Quoted text in red.

"By wasting our time arguing whether it should be allowed in the classroom, we're taking time away from real scientific progress, and that could REALLY harm us as a culture as we're quickly slipping away from the technology-forefronted nation that we may have once been." -Rev. Mitcz

I'm sorry, I know this is off topic and I'll get dugg down,we have been teaching evolution and science as undisputed fact in our class rooms for at least 25 years. You can't lay the decline of American culture at religion's door step.

Corporate greed and the desire to maximize profits has put our focus on foreign and illegal labor.
Decadence and Hedonism have caused the American worker to want to do very little other than enjoy his personal wealth.
Money in the form of grants and ventures has skewed our scientific research from the altruistic to the profitable.
Corruption in our institutions has shaken confidence in both our government and our economy.
nah, don't blame God. We did this to ourselves.

And that's enough for now.

Gasoline Extortion

Really, my life is not all about cars, but it keeps coming up. Gasoline, at this point, has become a utility, much like water, electricity, and natural gas, and it needs federal regulation. I don't want to hear any of this free market garbage. I don't have the option of not driving. Our Government promoted America's highway system with an almost religious fervor. Most of us cannot afford to live where we work. I'll tell you what, though. I am cutting back all I can in every other area. My wife and I won't be going on a vacation this summer. No ball games, concerts, or road trips. And I know I cannot be alone on this. It will crush our economy. I can't afford 3 dollars a gallon. But I need to keep my job. It's a catch 22.

Now tell me why Gas NEEDS to be 3 plus dollars a gallon when oil companies are posting record profits and giving their retirees 400 million dollar retirement packages. I swear, if I knew how to start a revolution I would. Our government is either screwing us or letting us be screwed all the time now, and I am so very sick of it. And don't even get me started on illegal immigration.

I WILL NOT vote for an incumbent this year. Who's with me? Everyone Out in '06!!

And that's enough for now.

SUV Vernacular

For 2 years, at least, I have been referring to the modern gigantic SUV as the 'Burb Tank. I believe that I coined this phrase (feel free to contact me with prior usage if you know of any), and I think it's high time we start getting some mileage out of it.
